Hi, I'm Emily — Owner & Instructor at Omaha Safe Swim
I’m so glad you’re here! I’m a Nebraska native—raised in Lincoln and living in Omaha for over 10 years. I’m married to Nate, and we’re proud parents to our wild, water-loving little boy, Harrison.
A Lifelong Swimmer, A Passionate Instructor
I grew up around pools as a competitive swimmer, continued into college in Minnesota, and finished my career as an NCAA All-American. Swimming was second nature to me—but it wasn’t until I had my son and my own backyard pool that I truly understood the importance of water safety and drowning prevention.
Why I Became an ISR Instructor
When I tried to enroll my son, Harrison, in ISR lessons at age one, I quickly realized how limited the options were in Omaha. While there are some incredible instructors in our area, there simply aren’t enough to meet the growing demand.
Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under four—and lack of access to ISR lessons shouldn’t be the reason Omaha kids miss out on life-saving skills. That realization drove me to step in, get certified, and become an ISR instructor myself.
15+ Years of Teaching Experience
I’ve been teaching swim lessons in some form for over 15 years—group classes, private lessons, and stroke clinics. Most recently, I’ve offered backyard private lessons right here in West Omaha to swimmers of all ages.
I Am Excited to Meet You!
I’m thrilled to be bringing ISR to more families in our community. My first ISR session launches in August 2025, and I can’t wait to help your child grow strong, confident, and safe in the water.
Is your swim instructor a Certified ISR Instructor?
There are many instructors who say they teach ISR techniques, however, unless they are listed on the ISR Instructor locator on the official ISR website and meet the criteria below, they are NOT Certified ISR Instructors.
Miss Emily will be in ISR certification training June 2025, with certification coming July 2025!
